Fact: APIs are hot. Nothing charms us quite like a well-designed API with a nice (spec sheet) to boot. In the right hands, whether it be their creators’ or their users’, APIs are powerful and are at the center of many miracles. Over the last few years, they have proven their worth and become a mainstay of our apps and web experience.

The thing is, for their daily use, the metric boatload of tools required can quickly turn into one big time-consuming hellscape. A lot of us wish for a well-thought-out global solution.

So that’s our mission: give developers, product managers and whoever might need them the tools to create and maintain the best API ecosystem.

Bump is looking to reinvent what’s expected from a developer portal: a place where humans and tools can sync up around (API plans). We are setting up a unique meeting point for your team, your community, around your API — and we aim to make things easy.

The job

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the user experience for our platform, with a focus on simplifying complex products. You will work closely with our product team from highlighting feedbacks and enhancements to wireframing and creating intuitive and user-friendly designs for new ones.

Your day-to-day should involve:

• Collaborating with the product and engineering teams to define user experience goals and requirements for new and existing features
• Designing wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to illustrate your design concepts and ideas
• Conducting user research and testing to validate your designs and gather feedback
• Developing and maintaining design systems and style guides to ensure a consistent and cohesive user experience across our platform
• Providing guidance and mentorship to other designers on the team
• Creating intuitive and visually appealing UI designs that align with the overall user experience goals and requirements for new and existing features
